Technology that keeps families connected

GrandPad was created in 2014 by the father-son team of Scott and Isaac Lien after they experienced firsthand the challenges of using traditional mobile devices to stay connected with Scott’s aging mother, who was living thousands of miles away from Scott, Isaac, and the rest of their family.

Scott and Isaac used the insights from Scott’s mother and other seniors to create a purpose-built tablet that was especially designed to meet the physical limitations many older adults face — such as hearing and vision loss, inability to use touchscreen technology, and lack of home internet or wifi access.

Today, GrandPad is being used to keep nearly 1 million people connected. We have seniors using GrandPad in all 50 states and 22 countries and, when individual family and friends are included, we are proud to share that people in 110 countries are connected through GrandPad.

In addition to consumer users, GrandPad is being adopted increasingly by healthcare organizations to improve the telehealth experience and outcomes for older adults.
